How to Use This Tool

  1. Upload your PDF

Drop in the PDF with pages that need rotating. Multi-page documents are fully supported.

  2. Choose rotation and pages

Select the rotation angle (90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° counter-clockwise) and optionally specify which pages to rotate (e.g. 1, 3-5). Leave blank to rotate all pages.

  3. Download the fixed PDF

Click Rotate PDF and download your corrected document. All other page content remains untouched.

About Rotate PDF

Scanned documents are frequently saved in the wrong orientation — a page scanned face-down appears upside down, and a landscape document scanned in portrait mode needs a 90° rotation. The Rotate PDF tool corrects page orientation errors permanently so the fixed rotation is saved into the document itself, not just applied as a viewing preference.

Most PDF viewers let you rotate pages during viewing, but that rotation is only temporary and resets when the file is reopened. Our tool writes the rotation directly into the PDF page metadata, meaning the corrected orientation persists in every viewer and when the document is printed.

Rotation options:

  • 90° Clockwise: Rotates the page a quarter turn to the right. Use to fix a page that is rotated 90° counter-clockwise.
  • 180°: Flips the page upside down. Use to fix completely inverted pages.
  • 270° (or 90° Counter-clockwise): Rotates the page a quarter turn to the left. Use to fix a page rotated 90° clockwise.

You can choose to rotate all pages in one operation or specify individual pages or ranges (e.g. 1, 3-5, 8). This is particularly useful for scanned books or reports where only certain pages were inserted incorrectly.

After rotating, consider running Compress PDF if the rotation created a noticeably larger file. If you need to make other layout adjustments, Crop PDF lets you trim margins from the rotated pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the rotation be permanent?
Yes. The rotation is saved into the PDF metadata, so it persists when the file is opened in any viewer or printer.
Can I rotate only specific pages?
Yes. Enter specific page numbers or ranges (e.g. 1, 3-5) in the pages field. Leave it blank to rotate all pages.
Does rotating affect text quality?
No. Rotating a PDF is a metadata change — it does not re-render or recompress any content, so quality is unchanged.
Can I rotate to a specific degree, like 45°?
PDF rotation supports 90-degree increments only (90°, 180°, 270°). Arbitrary angle rotation is not supported.
Is the tool free?
Yes. Free with no account, no daily limit, and no watermarks.
What is the file size limit?
Up to 50 MB per PDF.
Are my files secure?
Files are transmitted over HTTPS and deleted from our servers within one hour.
Can I use this on mobile?
Yes. The tool works in all major mobile browsers without any app.
What browsers are supported?
Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop and mobile.
How long does the operation take?
Usually 5–10 seconds, regardless of the number of pages.
Can I undo the rotation after downloading?
Simply re-upload the file and rotate in the opposite direction to reverse the change.
