PDF to EPUB

PDF was designed for fixed-layout print documents, which makes it poor for mobile reading — you constantly zoom and scroll because the text does not reflow to fit your screen. PDF to EPUB solves this by converting the content of a PDF into the EPUB format, which is a reflowable eBook standard that adjusts text size, line spacing, and layout to match whatever screen you are reading on.

EPUB (Electronic Publication) is the open standard for eBooks, supported natively by Apple Books, Google Play Books, Kobo, Adobe Digital Editions, and most generic eReader apps. Amazon Kindle uses its own format (MOBI/AZW) but accepts EPUB files through its Send to Kindle service, which auto-converts on upload.

What converts well:

• PDFs with a single-column layout

What may not convert ideally:

• PDFs with complex multi-column magazine layouts may lose column structure
• Heavy image-based PDFs or design-heavy documents
• Scanned PDFs without a text layer (use OCR PDF first)

After converting, if the EPUB needs further editing or chapter structuring, it can be opened in calibre or Sigil for fine-tuning.
